1st XI lost to Richmond C.C. by 3wickets.
Oh for the want of 30 runs. A familiar club shortcoming across the sides this season. Sometimes a little grind is required. A win would have sent us top but defeat places us third. A good league debut from Josh Bennett
2nd XI bear their teeth.
Barnes dismissed for 136 and this time an easy run chase. Jay Ranawat 5 -39 roughs them up before Ansh Vaswani’s 86 leads them home. A promotion push now for this talented side
The 3rd XI almost deny Willow Leather’s existence in dismissive victory. We are all “Burning with Optimism’s flames” as the song goes. Heslop, Millard, O’Brien and Fawden star
4th XI yet again keep their nerve
Bowlers toil in batting friendly conditions but 247 is still some chase, once again led by Sif Bacchus (93)and brilliantly support by Fernando Lee (69 n.o.). Hopefully Fernado is now available for the rest of the season (unless he is made Chancellor Of The Exchequer!)
5th XI loose a tight game to Winchmore Hill - Simon Farmer debut century!
Simon’s century is the highlight of the day setting a competitive total. Excellent bowling from Hamza Shirzad and Jacob Auburn speaks well for the future but again a young attack couldn’t quite get on top of an experienced opposition
6th XI debut win by 113 runs!
Mellow Facer’s open. Captain’s knock of 79 followed up by the exotically attired James Chappell smashing 56 set a large total. Tom Carver’s 7 - 48 makes up for Chetan Patel’s umpiring mistake which prevented victory in the first match between these sides.
MDL - Match Day 2 - North Midd exact revenge
Niall Perfect’s 6-36 reduced North Midd to 89-7 but they are let off the hook and their final score of 181 proves a little too much for our young side. Another excellent knock from Flynn Thomson
